Jenna Conway is the Deputy Superintendent of Early Childhood Care and Education at the Virginia Department of Education, leading efforts to unify and enhance the state’s birth-to-five early childhood education system. With over a decade of experience, she focuses on improving access, quality, and kindergarten readiness through high-quality curriculum and teacher development. Previously, she served as Assistant Superintendent of Early Childhood in Louisiana and was Virginia’s first Chief School Readiness Officer. A Charlottesville native, Conway holds a degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and is based in Richmond.
Jeff Williams serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Child Care Health and Safety at the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), a role he assumed in May 2021 following the transfer of childcare oversight from the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS). With over 20 years of childcare experience, he has worked as a regulator, policy developer, provider, and consumer, including roles as a Licensing Inspector and Project Manager at VDSS. Williams, a father and grandfather, leverages his extensive personal and professional background to collaborate with providers, ensuring child health and safety.
